We onle needed to cover about 500kms to Ceduna and so took a detour to a spot called Cactus Beach.
It's not sign posted but some locals gave us directions. It's very well known amongst surfers (2 were taken by sharks there) and to reach it you need to travel on a gravel/sand road. Always fun in a 2 wheel drive!
This bloke pulled us over

On the way in there is a road which divides a lake in 2. One half is blue, the other pink. The pink half is a salt lake.

No one bothered pointing out to me until later that it's a relatively thin layer of salt and clay crust, but I still managed to walk on it without sinking to build salty

The beach is awesome and the surf was up

I then heard a voice, that sounded a little like David Boone say "sylvieeeee..sylvieeeee..you have always been my favourite" and I was mysteriously levitated high above the ground to the sound of angel harps and choir voices and I think Angus Young on leadguitar.

Or..maybe I just ran up a sand dune and then jumped and ran down!

Soon after this picture was taken I landed on my bum.
That dune was made of fricken CONCRETE!
If you press into your buttock, you will feel the back of your hip joint.THAT is what I landed on and Im still feeling the bruise!
Next Stop-Eucla!
