Gym work today!
I spent 20 minutes on the bike, lip reading Dee-lite singing 'Groove is in the heart' and eavesdropping on the conversation happening behind me.
It was really boring and hardly worth leaning back for, I think they were yapping mostly about diet failure.
You would think people could TRY and be a little more entertaining when there's the prospect of a stationary bike rider discreetly listening in.
I wonder why they suddenly started talking in that European language?
The rest of my time I worked on abs and legs, while surrounded by women talking about their 3 month old babies and who's babies are getting their molars..AGAIN..hardly converation I can get my muftis in a wad about!!
Which leads me to the issue which I have been pondering,in between eavesdropping and lip reading.
I'm really not surprised that the media has latched onto what the mufti said to his muslim audience and beaten it up until it's grown bigger than Lindsay Lohans forehead.
What I'm struggling with is the EVER so slight hypocricy.
Do people REALLY think this is the only example of women being judged by what they wear?
The mufti making the analogy that women not dressed in a demure manner are leaving themselves open to being raped in the same way that meat would be attacked by animals is hardly new!
Didn't anyone watch Jodie Foster in "The Accused"?
Doesn't anybody read the gossip mags?
Paris Hilton is a slag because she always wears her belt as a skirt.
Princess Mary is good because she wears flowing chiffon and taffetta bits!
Maybe Paris Hilton isn't the best example, but,I'm sure you get my drift.
The purpose of free speech is to allow us to use what is said,as a mirror which we hold up to our own selves.
And let us remember, there's always something lost in translation
Enough mufting around already!
